About Kenny

I did not write this guide from a comfortable place.

I wrote it from the inside of a real life — one that has known genuine emptiness, genuine fear, and the specific kind of darkness that comes when you are looking for peace in every place except the one where it actually lives.

I grew up in Bobonong, a small rural village in Botswana. I was raised by a single mother who gave everything she had to five children. Life was not easy. But the emptiness I am talking about in this guide did not come from poverty or hardship. It came later — when I had a career, a degree, a life that looked fine from the outside, and yet something inside felt hollow. Like I was moving through the days without really living them.

In 2010 I nearly died. Pneumonia had taken hold of my body in a way that frightened everyone around me. I had tried everything — doctors, traditional healers, every option available to me. Nothing was working. My cousin Dipuo invited me to church. I went not because I was looking for God, but because I had run out of every other option.

The moment I walked through those doors, something shifted. Before anyone prayed. Before any words were spoken over me. A feeling came over me that I had never felt before — warmth, hope, the unmistakable sense that life was returning. I knew in that moment I was going to live. Not because of medicine. Because I had finally walked into the presence of the One I had been avoiding.

"The emptiness I had been carrying was not a sign that something was wrong with me. It was a sign that I was looking for something real in places that could never hold it."

That Sunday changed my life. My family came to faith. My purpose became clear. And the emptiness — the hollow, restless feeling that had followed me for years — finally had a name and a remedy.

I wrote Why You Feel Empty because I needed it once. Because I know what it is to go through the motions of a life that looks fine while something essential is missing inside it. And because I believe — with everything in me — that you did not find this guide by accident.

Today I am a committed follower of Christ, an author, and someone who believes deeply that God does not create people for emptiness. The word says in 2 Peter 1:3 that He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. The fullness you are looking for is not out of reach. It is one decision away.

You were not made to stay empty. And you do not have to.

With love and faith,
